Research Interests

My primary research focus is on understanding how large-scale computational infrastructure, such as the Grid can accelerate processes of innovation and discovery. This has lead to my extensive work in creating Grid computing infrastructure and more recently into the creation of digital asset management systems for scientific discovery. 

Projects 

I am collaborating with the Norman Lear Center in the USC Annenberg School of Communication in the Media Impact Project, where we are developing data driven models and methods to measure the impact of media. 

I am the PI of the Facebase Data Hub which is creating a data sharing infrastructure for a network of researcher investigating the causes of craniofacial birth defects.

I am co-PI of a NIH funded transformational R01 award whose goal is to to create complete map of the synaptome of a living organism.

I am a co-investigator in the Big Data for Discovery Science, an NIH Big Data Center of Excellence
