MD5 Analysis MD5 Analysis
The ATOMIC-2 project has examined the possibilty of implementing an MD5 authenication mechanism in hardware, capable of supporting ATOMIC speeds (640 Mbps).
We found that MD5 has performance limitations that inhibit its implementation speed. The results are published in:
