Degree Programs:
ISD researchers take an active role in the graduate programs
at USC. Several graduate-level courses have been designed and
regularly offered by ISI researchers, including CS 541, CS 544,
CS 562, CS593, and several CS 599.
Ed Hovy recently helped start and is co-director of the program
for Masters in Computational Linguistics, joint between the
Computer Science and the Linguistics Departments at USC.
Internships: NEEDS CONTACT INFORMATION
Many students from other institutions do internships with researchers
at ISI. This includes students in Cognitive Science, Psychology,
Linguistics, and Engineering, as well as many undergraduates.
Students have come to us from UCLA, CMU, Stanford, etc.
PhD Advising: IS THIS LIST UP TO DATE?
PhD students are central to our research projects. All PhD students
at ISI are fully supported through felloships or research assistantships.
They work closely with their advisors and are active in publishing
widely new advances in the field.

Many of these advanced graduate courses were created by ISI
researchers and are part of the requirements for Ph.D. and M.Sc.
degrees at USC. Several USC/ISI researchers teach courses for
the UCLA Extension program on various topics of Artificial Intelligence.
