Kernel Protocols

SunOS 4.1.3 kernel TCP/IP performance (on Sun SPARC 20/71) has been measured at memory-to-memory level over Myrinet and ATM, separately.

Test configurations:

• In Myrinet configuration , Sun SPARC 20/71 stations are connected through a Myrinet switch.
• In ATM configuration , Sun SPARC 20/71 stations are connected through a FORE System ATM switch.
• Software: Myricom Myrinet-2.0c and FORE System SBA200-3.0.1.

Performance results:

• Tabulated Myrinet results
• Tabulated ATM results

Performance measurement tools used:

• Blast measurement tool
• Netperf (version 1.7)
• Ttcp (version 1.9)
