Myrinet-Myrinet Gateway

Currently a Myrinet-Myrinet gateway is implemented using a Sun SPARC host
with multiple Myrinet host interfaces.
Comparing the following three configurations:
- In configuration A, flow I (source: SS10/51; sink: ss10/51) and flow II
(source: SS20/50; sink SS20/71) go through gateway simultaneously.
The aggregated TCP/UDP throughput is measured.
- In configuration B, flow I goes through gateway alone.
- In configuration C, flow I goes through gateway alone.
- Software: Myricom Myrinet-2.0c and FORE System SBA200-3.0.1.
- Performance measurement tool used: blast.tar.Z
Performance results (in Mbps):
Indication:
- In all cases, the aggregated bandwidth generated by two simultaneous flows
is much lower than the sum of bandwidth generated by each individual flow.
- This Myrinet-Myrinet gateway configuration is a performance bottleneck.
