One can recieve a PHD in computer science or other disciplines at ISD by collaborating with ISI staff members.

Ed Hovy recently helped start and is co-director of this program, which is operated jointly by the USC Departments of
Computer Science and the Linguistics.
ISD researchers take an active role in the graduate programs
at USC. Several graduate-level courses have been designed and
regularly offered by ISI researchers, including CS 541, CS 544,
CS 562, CS593, and several CS 599.
