JK,

I agree with you (I think). If we manage to get our hands on the standards
for C++ bindings, we could do the follwoing: write the IDL for specification,
and write the .h files by hand (or by editing the CORBA generated ones) so
that they conform to the future standard. THen we can write the server code
and test it. When the new IDL compiler appears in the scene, presumably it
will generate .h files that are identical to the ones we have (or at least
very similar).

I think this is a workable solution. Do you?
