Hi,

As you know, Craig Wier, the HCI Program Manager left ARPA. Allan Sears
and Bob Neches are now managing the HCI program. Allan Sears is managing
the projects that deal more directly with the user (eg, new interaction
technologies), and Bob is managing the "tool" projects.

The official program manager for Mastermind is Allan Sears. However, since
Mastermind is a tool project, we are in Bob's group, and so he is managing
Mastermind.

The good news is that Bob and Allan feel that Mastermind is underfunded.
Bob asked us to prepare a statement of work for additional work, projecting
that the Mastermind effort will be raised to 600K for ISI and 300K for
Georgia Tech. This is about double of what we are getting now.

Given that things have evolved since we wrote the proposal, we are not
bound to propose exactly the same things we had proposed in the options.
There are some items in the options that we definitely want to do, but we
can propose new things if we want. We should start working on this right
away. I will coordinate with Jim Foley on this.
