A modeling question: When the rubber meets road

I just had a meeting with Kurt and the following question came up
that neither of us could answer.

We were looking at one of the recent Mastermind papers that gave
some examples using the phone. The general question we had was
the exact location of interaction between Mastermind models. The
specific question arose when we were looking at the example of forwarding a
call task. This task is broken down into four subtasks, the last of which is
effectively to do the forwarding of a message. This task is subsequently
broken down into two further subtasks, but those descriptions are not
contained in the paper. Presumably, at some point the task model has to
invoke some behavior of the application model, but it's not at all clear from
the example where that happens and how it is encoded in the task description.
I could make some guesses, but they would only be guesses. What's the real
answer?

To generalize just a bit, how does one define the interaction between any two
models in Mastermind? And if I wanted to know the interaction between any two
models (e.g., Task-Application, Presentation-Task) where would I look to find
the answer?

Thanks,
Gregory
