People at CARTE

W. Lewis Johnson  directs the Center for Advanced Research in Technology for Education. His work involves the application of artificial intelligence to education and training.

Erin Shaw  is a Research Computer Scientist at CARTE. Her research focuses on creating pedagogically motivating software and modelling and assessing student knowledge especially in the engineering and health sciences, and applying advanced technologies to distance learning.

Catherine M. LaBore  is an anthropologist and media producer. She produces digital media for the CARTE group's researchers, and contributes her knowledge of social theory to relevant research. She received a Masters Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Arizona in 1990, and a Masters Degree in Visual Anthropology from USC in 1994.
