Education
Murilo Coutinho received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the
Military Institute of Engineering
(IME), Brazil, in 1990. Two years later he
received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering - Control Systems from the
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. In 1992, Murilo was awarded a
scholarship from the Ministry for Science and Technology of Brazil
(CNPq) to pursue his Ph.D. degree. Murilo received his
Ph.D in Electrical
Engineering -- Control Systems and
another M.S. in Computer Science
from the University of Southern
California, under the advisement of Prof.
Edmund Jonckheere and Prof.
Doug Ierardi, respectively.
Murilo worked as a Project Leader at the Distributed
Scalable Systems Division at USC/Information Sciences Institute,
leaving ISI on June 29th, 2000.
