Call for Papers


Authors and system developers are invited to submit four kinds of presentations:

  • Theoretical papers: Unpublished papers describing original work on all aspects of Machine Translation. A preference will be given for papers that address the theme of future visions of MT in the context of information processing. Papers should be in English, not longer than 10 pages, with minimum character font size of 11 pt.

  • System descriptions with optional system demonstrations: Approx. 25 minutes will be allocated per system description/demo. Submissions should be in English, not longer than 4 pages. If a system demonstration is included, please provide the following information:

  • Users' experience: Studies of experiences with implementing MT or testing its applicability to some task. Users, managers, and sales/marketing professionals are especially welcome to submit. Studies should be in English, not longer than 8 pages, with minimum character font size of 11 pt.

  • Visionary papers: Interesting, fun, and challenging descriptions of what the future might hold for people living in a world of instant communication, ubiquitous computing, and the need for translation greater than ever. Papers should be in English, not longer than 4 pages, with minimum character font size of 11 pt.

  • First page: All submissions should include a separate title page with the following information:

    Authors will be notified of acceptance on May 15, 2000
    Final copies of papers are due on June 26, 2000
