[ns] nam problem

Hi,
I have a problem executing 'nam'.
I have the following binaries installed :
  nam-1.0a9
  ns-2.1b6
  otcl-1.0a5
  tcl8.0.4
  tclcl-1.0b9
  tk8.0.4

On running 'nam', it does not bring up the ANimator
window, neither does it give any error messages...it
just stays there, doing nothing.

I am running this on a Solaris machine.
Are there any other settings that i need to do ?
