[ns] please help us!!!

Hi!
we are two students who are trying to learn ns for our
university thesis.
we just want to ask a question.
If someone could answer us it should be great!!!

we are studying ad-hoc-networks.
The problem is:
we have a node A and a node B that initially cannot
communicate each other. Next we put a node C between
them in order to permit A-B communication. Now A and B
communicate but C doesn't receive and trasmit any data
packets. How is it possible? We expect that energy of
C decreases but it remains at the  maximum!

Please help us!!!
