[ns] Window in tcp.h

Hi,
I am a novice in networking and I am using NS for the
first time. I was going through the code in tcp.h and
was wondering "what is window (i mean virtual int
window()  in Class TcpAgent) used for". I would really
appreciate your help. I know that conceptually
"window" is used as the buffer to store the segments.
But I was wondering, if this is what it is used for in
NS also?
