[ns] Question about SRM/Request ignore time

I have several questions about SRM/Request object implementation:

1) Why there is a 3*[$self distance? sender] ignoring_repair period after the node receive the repair? What will happen if the SRM/Request object immediately be cleared after received the repair?

2) When SRM/Request sent out a request for a long time and did not receive a repair,will it resend the request? I didn't find out where it resend the request in mcast/srm.tcl.
