Our goal is to analyze and guide social dialogue within online communication and collaboration tools such as forums, wikis, blogs and chats. Technologies used include community modeling, natural language processing, data mining, topic profiling, and text retrieval We have been using our technologies to scaffold and measure STEM learning, focusing on undergraduate and post secondary student learning and assessment. We have collaborated with the Distance Education Network at the Viterbi School of Engineering since 2003. We recently expanded the scope of the work by including collaborative game projects. |
