Abstract

We demonstrate a tunable delay element using wavelength conversion, dispersion-compensating-fiber, and optical phase conjugation. 503-ns delay, for 40-Gb/s RZ-OOK and RZ-DPSK, is demonstrated utilizing a new method for doubling relative delay and minimal residual dispersion.
