A group of people that originated with ISIers - but now has grown much larger plays beach volleyball weekly Daylight Savings Time here:
7030 Trolleyway Street, Los Angeles, California, United States
Look at Google streetview; go through the alleyway to the beach, and look for people playing really bad volleyball - you can ask for the "ISI game" to confirm. People usually there include Rick, Dave, and Dennis.
We play from 5:30pm until the sun sets (we finish the game that's in progress when the sun sets).
Basic rules are in effect, but it's very casual. Don't touch the net, don't cross to the other team's side, and the ball can't touch the net on the serve. There are two "ISI" rules:
1) first serve of the season
a player's first serve can be a "do-over" if it fails
to be playable (e.g., you hit the net, foot-fault, or serve
outside the lines); this applies only once per calendar year,
and only on the first serve of that player that year
2) sky-ball
the winning point must be served to go at least twice as high
as the player's typical serve. the better the server, the higher
they're expected to try to hit the ball (i.e., straight up)
this gives the other team a chance at catching up, FYI
Please feel free to join us - or any Tuesday during daylight savings (this year or any year to come). Feel free to bring others too; it's a friendly game, and kids as young as 10 have played.

Afterwards, those interested usually go to Beach Pizza to eat (this is optional, of course):
