Soar is a unified theory of cognition used to model human behavior. Using the ModSAF simulation system, automated pilots implemented in Soar fly a variety of missions. Soar interacts with ModSAF via the Soar/ModSAF Interface (SMI) which provides a simulated cockpit for Soar pilots. The SMI design is described in detail along with associated design constraints. Implementation details concerning functionality, modularity, and efficiency are addressed. Issues arising from integration difficulties are also identified.
