How to read this manual
=======================

Those readers unfamiliar with Soar should concentrate on the first two levels
presented in Chapters See The Problem Space Level and *Note Semantics of
the Symbol Level::. Further readings on Soar can be found in Rosenbloom,
Laird, and Newell (1993). Those readers only interested in a reference manual
for Soar can skip Chapter See The Problem Space Level, but should read
Chapter See Semantics of the Symbol Level carefully. Chapters
See Syntax of the Symbol Level through See Default knowledge in Soar
present the syntax of Soar, and the semantic details of chunking, I/O, and
the default knowledge. It may be useful to skip occasionally to Chapter
See Encoding A Task in Soar to see how a complete implementation fits
together.
