The following paper by Rahul Parundekar, Craig Knoblock, and Jose Luis Ambite won the award for Best Research Paper at the 11th International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC) in Boston last week:
Discovering Concept Coverings in Ontologies of Linked Data Sources
Rahul Parundekar, the lead author on the paper, recently completed his M.S. degree at USC in computer science and has continued to collaborate with Craig and Jose Luis. The paper presents a new data mining algorithm for extracting semantic relationships between sources using only the information about how the instances across the sources are connected.
