What's New?

To improve my presentation, public speaking, and organizational skills, I'm helping start a new Toastmasters' club. You can check us out at the Toastmasters' District 1 web site or at meetup.com.

Meetings are on the first and third Monday of each month. Start time is 7:00 pm; meetings end at 8:30 pm. The location is one of the best possible, the historic Redondo Beach Library building at 309 Esplanade in Veterans' Park. See me for directions.

Current Projects

AENEAS Cube Sat

Adding new features to the ground system software for the student-built Aeneas spacecraft. The ground system is written in Java and uses a MySQL database in the backend.

The Aeneas project is part of the Space Engineering Research Center (SERC).

ADAPT/Intelligent Data

ADAPT is a project in partnership with Berkeley National Laboratory. Intelligent Data is an adjunct to the Pegasus Workflow system. Each project is experimenting with a Policy service intended to enhance performance of the movement of large amounts of data. I am working on the integration of the policy service into Pegasus and supporting the additions to ADAPT. I've also written a multi-protocol backend data transport service.

Academic Papers

I completed the Master of Science in Computer Science at Loyola Marymount University in December 2004. Here is a link to my Master's Thesis. Other papers and proposed papers are also included on my papers page.
