This was the first of a series of planned SME tests for the SRI team that I had proposed. It was held on March 1-2, 2001 at SRI in Menlo Park, CA.
The goal of this first test was to observe whether SMEs can understand composition as an approach to knowledge entry, and the two SMEs that we tested successfully used components from a small library.
I prepared the training material and conducted the test at SRI with the help of many people from the team, including UT's Bruce Porter and Ken Barker, UWF's Pat Hayes, Boeing's Pete Clark, ISI's Jihie Kim, and SRI's Andres Rodriguez, Jerome Thomere and Kristien Mortelmans (both in absentia), and Vinay Chaudri, who conducted the test with me at SRI.
