Comment: There is a large plot of land known as Boston Commons. In the old days, a Commons was a free, communal area where anyone could come and let their animals graze. Now it's a park where lots of people can graze, or sunbathe. It was hot so it was packed. This cool looking fountain was the highlight of the Commons for me.
IMG_0828 * This is a shot of some buildings in Boston. I believe the grey one is the Verizon building, which is supposedly famous for its Art-Deco style. * 1024 x 768 * (326KB)

IMG_0829 * This is Quincy Market, built in the 1800s. It has lots of shops and food in the food court, as well as some street performers. It was pretty cool and a nice refuge from the heat. * 1024 x 768 * (285KB)

IMG_0830 * In the same area as Quincy Market is this building Faneuil Hall. It was built before Quincy Market and was the area where Sam Adams inspired the revolutionaries to war. Now it serves as part of the Quincy Market shopping experience by providing a food court. There's a pretty good smoothie place in there: get the pink one (dunno what it's called), that has coconut on the edge of the cup. It's super good. The statue in front is a statue of Sam Adams. * 1024 x 768 * (326KB)

IMG_0831 * There are lots of graveyards in Boston because it's a pretty old city. I forgot to write down what this one is called, but it's pretty close to Faneuil Hall. * 1024 x 768 * (297KB)

IMG_0832 * This is the grave of Samuel Adams, found in the Granary Burial Ground. Paul Revere is buried here too. * 1024 x 768 * (268KB)

IMG_0834 * Across the street from one part of Boston Commons is this building. I'm not sure what it is, but it has a gold dome so it must be important! * 1024 x 768 * (274KB)

IMG_0835 * We eventually made our way down to the docks where we saw ducks. I mostly just wanted to write the caption Ducks at the Docks so that is why this picture is included. * 1024 x 768 * (260KB)

IMG_0836 * Here is Rattapoom at the docks. It smelled like boats, old wood, the ocean and gasoline, which is a smell I really enjoy since I grew up deep sea fishing out of large docks like this one. * 1024 x 768 * (273KB)

IMG_0837 * At the edge of the docks you hit the waterfront. Lots of people congregate here for the cool views and telescopes. In the distance, the reddish building is the Hyatt, at which some conference people opted to stay. * 1024 x 768 * (185KB)

IMG_0838 * These are my two yachts. * 1024 x 768 * (195KB)
