This is a view of the North bridge from the Waverly bridge. The grassy area is Prince's Street Gardens which is in front of Prince's Street. It used to be the Nor Loch (North Lake), but was filled in and converted to this garden to entice the wealthy to move out of the overcrowded old city, into the "new city" across the North Bridge, which they did, building homes along Prince's Street.
