Soccer Robots, 3rd Generation



This is the third and the last generation of the soccer robots we built at ISI. I designed these robots based on what we learned from participating in RoboCup 1997 (World Champion!) and Robocup 1998. I added wide-angle lenses to the cameras so they have a wider field of view. The new closed loop speed control system enables robots to move with a constant software controlled speed. Chassis and drive motors are imporved and are stronger. We built four of these robots. In addition to playing soccer we have used them for carrying our CONRO modules. These robots are very reliable platforms and suitable for almost any kind of mobile robotic research.
