I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the Natural Language Group at USC - Information Sciences Institute. My advisor is Dr. David Chiang. My research interests lie in the areas of machine translation, machine learning, and also artificial intelligence in general. I am particularly interested in the theoretical and algorithmic perspectives.
Research Interests:
- Matching problems, inventing algorithms to discover complex relations between entities from two different spaces e.g. word alignment problems.
- Search problems in an exponential space, utilizing underlying structures to reduce the size of the search space e.g. decoding in machine translation.
- Fundamental learning problems, particularly those related to regression, classification, clustering, and factor analysis.
General Interests:
- Rubik's cubes and most of puzzle games. This is, indeed, a search problem in an exponential space performed by humans. I am interested in the mathematics behind the games and algorithms for solving them.
- Table tenis, badminton, volleyball, etc.
- Thai cooking!
