Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra Invigorating, sparkling and vibrant! Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra brings High Baroque to Venice with an all-Vivaldi concert. Ten critically acclaimed musicians from this outstanding orchestra will perform several of the composer's best loved concertos from his Opus 3 (L'Estro Armonico), as well as concertos for the flute and recorder. With the 2001-2002 season, the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra celebrates sixteen years of music making. Led by Founder-Music Director Gregory Maldonado, this period-instrument orchestra has been featured on National Public Radio's Performance Today and has performed in the Berkeley Early Music Festival and major festivals in England and Germany.

Colburn Children's Choir Sunday, December 16, 2001 Let the angelic voices of children fill you with the holiday spirit. Experience a joyous selection of multicultural holiday music performed by the highly acclaimed Colburn Children's Choir. This very specialized ensemble of young musicians is led by Choir Director Mark Williams, a well known composer of choral music and children's operas, and has recently returned from a concert tour of China. The Colburn School of Performing Arts began in 1950 as the preparatory division to USC's School of Music. Established as an independent institution in 1980, Colburn continues its mission to provide the highest quality performing arts education to young people.
Sunday, September 16, 2001 The season opened most beautifully! Virtuosos from the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra celebrated the first concert of the season with Haydn's London Flute Trio No. 1 in C Major, Beethoven's String Trio in C Minor, Op.9 No.3, and Mozart's Flute Quartet in D Major, KV 285. Founded in 1968, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra is one of the top five ensembles of its kind in the world. Acclaimed for its virtuosic music-making and dynamic programming, the group continues to flourish under the vibrant leadership of Jeffrey Kahane, music director since 1996.
