Dr. Wei Ye is a Research Assistant Professor in the
Computer Science Department
and a Computer Scientist at the Information Sciences Institute
(ISI),
University of Southern California
(USC).
He received his B.S. and
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from
Xidian University, China
and M.S. in Computer Science from USC in 1991, 1996 and 2001 respectively.
He is working in the area of wireless sensor networks and
underwater acoustic networks.
His research interest includes MAC layer design, energy management,
network architecture, signal processing, experimental testbeds and
operational systems for scientific applications.
Dr. Ye is a PI or co-PI of several projects funded by NSF, NASA, Intel
and Chevron Co.
He is a member of the ISI's
Computer Networks Division,
ISI Laboratory for Embedded Networked Sensor Experimentation
(I-LENSE),
USC Center for Smart Interactive Oilfield Technology
(CiSoft),
and the NSF-funded Center for Embedded Networked Sensing
(CENS).
Dr. Ye is an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Mobile
Computing and an area editor of the ACM Sigmobile Mobile Computing and
Communications Review. He has served on four NSF review panels and many
conference committees. He is the TPC co-chair of the Third ACM
International Workshop on UnderWater Networks
(WUWNet'08).
