Project work is available in a variety of areas and discplines, some of which require\u00a0students to be US Citizens or Permanent Residents (on a project to project basis).<\/p>\n<p>For those wishing to join please know some of our labs are located\u00a0in the Marina del Rey campus, not on the main campus and requires you to travel by daily\/hourly shuttle or other transportation to and from main campus.\u00a0 We also request a minimum time committment per week to maximize work inputs and outputs for you and SERC activities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isi.edu\/centers-serc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2021\/11\/build_collage.jpg\" alt=\"Several Images of Engineers at Work\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"398\" width=\"399\" title=\"build_collage\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p>To be considered to join\u00a0our team please fill out the form located in the following GoogleDoc link:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/u\/1\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSclM8vMHDH9GJmJefAgGsaccGO86bQsEJ-xibBCMfX76J8qHA\/viewform?usp=send_form\">SERC Application Form<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For students we recommend that you talk\u00a0to your advisor about your specific situation ato make sure you can make the time committment or course credits.\u00a0 For ASTE the student advisor is<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Luis Saballos, Student liaison, Astronautics Department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<section>\n    <h2>Professionals<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n\t<p>SERC welcomes experienced engineers\u00a0who have been responsible for a satellite subsystem or an entire satellite. Our engineers design and build our own subsystems and systems\u00a0often under tight constraints, while simultaneously teaching students critical tradecraft suitable for existing industry standards. The work isn&#8217;t easy, but our staff and alumni find it highly rewarding. At SERC, you&#8217;re more than an engineer. You&#8217;re a mentor, teacher and friend in an environment with real meaning, not just another job.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome applications for all subsystems year-round. Current skill areas we are looking for include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electronic systems with RTOS<\/li>\n<li>Systems engineering on large and small projects<\/li>\n<li>RF communications encoding and protocols (eg.
