Research Summary

My main research is on automatically evaluating open-domain dialogue systems in different levels including turn and conversation levels.  Due to multifaceted nature of dialogue systems, the evaluation metrics need to assess the quality from different perspectives including relevance, engagingness, coherence and etc. The main goal is to train learnable metrics to evaluate the performance of generative models to be close to human judgments and can be reliable replacements for them.
