Title:   Future of Analog Quantum Computing and ISI’s Role in It

Abstract:

The scientific community is readying itself for the dawn of the era of practical quantum computing, where devices capable of taking advantage of the peculiar and counterintuitive laws of Quantum Mechanics will start performing tasks unimaginable even for the largest classical supercomputers.  At the forefront of this effort have been the development of analog quantum computing devices, one of which — the D-Wave quantum annealer — can be found here at ISI. Itay will survey recent theoretical and experimental developments in the field of analog quantum computing and also discuss an outlook for the future, with emphasis on ISI’s role in shaping it.
