I-LENSE Diffusion Visualization Tools

NAM Picture

Diffusion's Visualization Tools allow diffusion users visualize packet-level information from diffusion. It is based in four components:

  • Logging in Diffusion (version >= 3.1.3)
  • Network pipes to send the data to a central location using a backchannel
  • A program to convert this information into NAM traces
  • NAM, to display

    In addition to allow monitoring network activity in real-time (including specific per node statistics, such as packets sent and received), these tools also enable users to record these traces for later analysis and playback.

    Software

    Diffusion-visualization-tools-1.0.1 is the latest version of the visualization tools package and include support for diffusion >= 3.1.3. You will also need to download NAM (Network Animator). Source code for NAM (both the stand alone application as well as the complete all-in-one NS package) and binaries for various platforms can be downloaded from the NAM webpage

    For more information, see Diffusion Visualization Tools 1.0.1 (released 09-Dec-02).
