sure-se_usc_experiment_20040806 This README file documents the "sure-se_usc_experiment_20040806" dataset. The primary dataset is a collection of 1500 detections taken at three sites at USC on August 6, 2004. Sensor data was supplemented with human observers and videotape to provide ground truth data. We selected three locations on internal campus streets to get a mix of low- and moderate-speed traffic. Vehicles include the USC shuttle bus, construction traffic, including cement mixers and 18-wheel trucks, and general automobile traffic. In addition to general traffic, we selected two passenger cars and ran them over each sensor 10 or more times to provide a baseline known vehicle to evaluate re-identification and sensor consistency. We have no video of site C due to camera problems. Video coverage at sites A and B covers a somewhat smaller time period than data collection. Note that there were some errors extracting the data from DVDs. Each dvd directory that had errors has a file copy_notes.txt documenting what was successful and what was not. cd_20041001a contains data files corresponding to the experiment: cd_20041001a/040806_USC_TRAFFIC/HUMAN_OBSERVATIONS contains several excel spreadsheets showing human-verified ground truth. Additional documentation is in cd_20041001a/040806_USC_TRAFFIC/HUMAN_OBSERVATIONS/README. cd_20041001a/040806_USC_TRAFFIC/NOTES contains general notes about sensor placement at USC, including maps. cd_20041001a/040806_USC_TRAFFIC contains raw data collected from each station in IST's format. cd_20041001a/040806_USC_TRAFFIC/STATION_B also contains the IST-provided capture client (a windows executable run under Windows NT 4.0) as ISTCaptureClient.exe and readme.txt.
