You may have noticed that the registration fees for MT Summit VI have been set quite low. The Organizing Committee has done this purposely in order to open up the conference to as wide an audience as possible. This decision gives more importance than ever to fund-raising activities and the contributions of sponsors to cover the cost of those "extras" that help to make a meeting really special.
Assistance is sought at this time in helping AMTA to cover, for example, travel grants for additional invited speakers, subsidies for student attendees, attention-getting conference promotions, specialized management software, contractual assistance for tasks now being done by volunteers, and upgrades in such areas as audiovisual services (videotaping, recording, theater-style projection of on-screen demos), publications (graphic design and printing of the proceedings, program, and related materials), the document portfolio, social events (refreshment breaks, lunches, reception, beach luau, banquet, entertainment, program for spouses or others accompanying the participants)--to mention but a few of the many ingredients of a truly successful conference.
All sponsorships will be prominently recognized in the conference program and at the site. Contributions may be earmarked for specific purposes such as those listed above, but they need not be. They are tax-deductible in the United States under IRS Code ¤501(c)(3). Checks should be payable to AMTA, which is hosting the conference this year on behalf of IAMT.

The MT Summit is an opportunity that comes to the Americas only once in six years. Through the international spotlight that it casts, it creates awareness of machine translation technology, enlists public involvement, and builds the overall base of support for the technology. This year MT Summit VI will be hosted by the Association for Machine Translation in the Americas (AMTA), acting on behalf of the International Association for Machine Translation (IAMT).
Your company or institution, or you as an individual, can show your commitment to machine translation and its key role in world communication by becoming a Sponsor of MT Summit VI. All sponsorships will be prominently recognized in the conference program and at the site. Contributions to AMTA are tax-deductible in the United States under IRS Code ¤501(c)(3).
