ns-2.1b2 release

Ns-2.1b2 has been released. Instructions for getting and building ns
are at <http://www-mash.cs.berkeley.edu/ns/ns-build.html>.
Latest version of tclcl (formerly known as libTcl) v1.0b5 has also been
released and can be found in the same location as above.

WHAT'S NS?
----------

Ns is a discrete event simulator targeted at networking research.
It provides substantial support for simulation of TCP, routing, and
multicast protocols.

Ns began as a variant of the REAL network simulator in 1989 and has
evolved substantially over the past few years. The ns development
effort is now an ongoing collaboration with the VINT project.

WHAT'S NEW IN 2.1b2?
--------------------

New features in this version include:

- test-suites: bugs fixed for TCP vegas, rate based pacing(RBP) added,
tcp-full added

- bugs fixed to make ns compatible with the new tcl/tk8.0p2

- Extended emulation support (under separate emulate subdirectory).Need to
build "nse" instead of "ns" to include emulate functionality. The
emulation stuff is to be considered under development.

- srm-topo{.cc.h} added to support large scale simulations for SRM

- Some changes/enhancements made (e.g random number generator
sequence for rtglib, TTLchecker decrements ticks other than
1, addition of tcp-session, implementation of "corrected"
timestamp echo algorithm for TCP, advance and advanceby commands for
CBP etc.)

- ErrorModules added, useful for injecting specific packet drops into
simulations

- Extended support for ECN notification by RED Queues

- some more bugs fixed and example test files added (tcl/ex and tcl/sesion)

Ns-2.1b2 is available from
<http://www-mash.cs.berkeley.edu/ns/ns-build.html>

IMPORTANT: Note ns-2.1b2 requires TclCL-1.0b5, otcl-1.0a2,
Tcl/Tk-8.0 or Tcl7.6/Tk4.2.

Padma.
