last I looked, cbt spec adopts a similar mechanism to that specified by 
pim-sm spec, 

	for more on that check the pim web page catarina.usc.edu/pim, 
you can check the spec.
we've presented such mechanism in infocom'99 in NY, it's called the 
bootstrap mechanism and there's a link to it from the pim web page.
