Routing in ns-2

Hellow,
 
 i want use a routing algorithm that uses congestion level like metric when
 computing the routes.
 i want change compute-route function in th route.cc file by an other witch
 take the congestion level in consideration.
 When executing a simulation, the simulator execute the compute route
 function only once.
 my problem is to make the simulator execute this function evry time the
congestion level change (routing table change)
which class in the ns code i have to extend or modify
 i use the ns-2.b4  version where the DV algorithm may not work.
