NT make issue

hi all,

apologies for spamming the group with an NT-specific question.

ns make depends fails on the NT platform with the error ("expanded
command line too long"). are there any ns users who happen to
know:

  a) what the max command line allowable in NT4.0 is?
  b) how to modify the buffsize associated with an NT command
       shell?

i've tried running the make depends in both korn and bash under
NT, to no avail. i've also searched some books on NT admin
and shell scripting for a method of increasing the command
shell buffer, but had no success.

would there be any make gurus out there who could think of a
work-around for this problem?

any help is greatly appreciated!

cheers,

james
