NS compilation problems

Hi,

      Im novice on Linux and NS and Im trying to compile the ns2.1b5.
Im using Linux RedHat 6.0. Festival I got the following files:
1. tcl.8_0_4_tar
2. tk8_0_4_tar
3. otcl-1_0a4_tar
4. tclcl-src-1_0b8
5. ns-src-2_1b5_tar
6. nam-src-1_0a7_tar
7. xgraph_anim_tar
8. stable_tar
9. tcl-debug-tar
        I started to compile the tclcl-src-1_0b8 but I received the
following error:
Configure: error: instalation or configuration
problem: C compiler cannot create executables
       With gcc -v I have:
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.91.66/specs

gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314 (egcs-1.1.2 release)
        What is wrong ?
         Can someone help me ?
