ErrorModel rate_???

Dear ns_users,

I am using ErrorModel agent in my simulation. And I want to
create a link which has a bit error rate of 1e-08.

If I set the rate

$loss_module1 set rate_ 1e-05

it drops packets.

But if I set it to 1e-06 , 1e-07 and so on, It doesn't do anything.
I run the simulation 50 sec.

Is there a way to make the error rate more sensitive?
