Sorry for not having written earlier, now I find the time to do the 
ns things again. I did manage to run the wired-cum-wireless example
found in ns-2.1b6-current/tcl/ex but I haven't tried the example of the 
tutorial. I don't also have the time to do the comparison at the
moment. I have the tutorial of November. However it runs NOT with
nam-1.08 (but an older version).
