[ns] integrate HDL modules

Hello.  Does anyone know what the process is to integrate an HDL
component into a simulation done in ns?  I know that Opnet provides
interconnectivity with QuickSim by Mentor Graphics.  Is the only way to
integrate it to make a new model for the component in ns?
