Re: [ns] how to use debugger

I tried to watch a class member variable in gdb, i.e.
watch xxxagent::a  (where a is a variable in class
xxxagent).  It fails to find the symbol.  I ended up
with using: watch this->a, but when it goes out of
that class, it loses this watchpoint.  Anyone knows
the correct way to watch it ?   Thanks!

1) You should use -g option to turn on debugging, in
the makefile : 
CCOPT	= -g
2) to use gdb with ns ; gdb ./ns
3) set your breakpoints, ex : break MAC::recv
4) run your script, ex : run script.tcl
5) when the break point is reached do whatever you
need: continue, next, step
6) to get help with the commands, try typing help on
the command line.
