[ns] Problems with DSDV
Hi All,
I am trying to study how the DSDV protocol exactly works in wireless
scenarios. I tried the following scenario with 3 nodes in a grid of size
670x670:
node 0 stationary at position (5,2)
node 1 stationary at position (200,10)
node 2 stationary at position (400,2)
I generated traffic with node 2 transmitting to node 0. It worked pretty
much OK as node 2 directly sent the packets to node 0. Now I modified the
simulation by just shifting the position of node 2 to (450,2) and keeping
the node stationary all the time. Node 2 wasnt able to communicate with
node 0 directly as the RX power of the packets received at node 0 were
below threshold. I expected node 2 to route the packets through
node 1 as node 1 was accessible from node 2 as well as node 0. However the
simulation stopped due to the fact that node 2 couldn't communicate with
node 0.
Is this a problem with DSDV or is node 2 supposed to forward the
packets to node 0 through node 1?
Thanks and regards
