Long answer: When you invoke 'configure', specify the
"--prefix=/place/where/you/intend/to/install/this/happiness" argument,
presumably something like "--prefix=$HOME/simruntime". You'll find a
directory hierarchy under there, complete with a bin, lib, ...

Make sure you add $HOME/simruntime/bin to your PATH and $HOME/simruntime/lib
to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Otherwise, xaos esues.
