[ns] simulator comparison: ns vs ssfnet

Forget the old saw of ns vs Opnet that has been done to death in the
archives.

Has anyone done a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of
(Georgia Tech parallelised?) ns and the fairly new ssfnet:
http://www.ssfnet.org/ ? Particularly for large sims?

(ssfnet does not use Tcl. uses some blahML. Uses java. all in all,
quite fashionable. Pity about requiring Raceway and their unworkable
publication review licence clause, though; as a way of building a
captive Raceway user base, that does look like an appallingly
compelling strategy. closest analogy I can think of is AOLServer and
the Cult of Arsdigita.)
