Thanks a lot.
I was referring in context of NS only. I wasn't very sure because the trace
files from simulations I did just showed different packets with "pareto"
labels; different from tcp....
so I take it that its true for NS also.... right?

| No, it doesn't alter the connection at all. The ON/OFF periods only
control when
| packets are given to TCP for transmission.
