[ns] MAC protocol design
I am an undergraduate student and have a project of writing a new
MAC protocol to extend IP onto an optiacl wireless network. I am unsure
of how to do this and would appreciate any help
The project involves using mobile stations controlled under a base
station running some kind of IP. I assume that I have to minimise
collisions, error and delay and maximise throughput.
So far I have tried varying the TCP packet size but am unsure whether
I am altering the characteristics of the MAC or not.
Also, I would appreciate any ideas on how to begin to simulate a MAC
protocol and what kind of things that I should try to optimize and simulate,
and where to start with the MAC protocol
Any hints out there anyone?
